Coconut oil as required
2 tsp kashmiri chilly powder
4 tbsp crushed black pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Clean the sardines removing entrails and wash well rubbing salt.
Make gashes on both sides.
Now prepare the marinade adding little water to make it a thick paste.Grinding all together is a better option.
Apply this marinade over and inside sardines.Marinate for at least one hour.
Heat coconut oil in a skillet and fry them till crisp in medium heat.(that’s entirely your taste.some don’t prefer crisps)
Serve hot with rice and curries.To me the combo of rice-kalan/theeyal-sardine is a feast in itself !!
