Kappakka | papaya morozhichu kootan


Ingredients

Half of a medium sized raw papaya,chopped (almost two cups)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilly powder
salt,as required
1.5 cup water
1 sprig curry leaf

To grind

1 cup grated coconut
2 shallots
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chilly powder
pinch of turmeric powder
3/4 cup curd (of medium sourness)

To garnish

2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 dried chilly
handful of curry leaves

Method

Pressure cook all the ingredients mentioned in the first section till one whistle.Switch off and allow it to release the pressure.By the time the pressure goes off,papaya will be cooked.Meanwhile grind the ingredients mentioned in particular section to a fine paste adding the curd little by little.Once the pressure release from the cooker,open and pour the ground paste adding little water if needed.Check salt and heat the curry.Be careful not to boil.Heating will do.Switch off and keep.In a small pan heat oil and splutter mustard,fenugreek seeds along with red chilly and curry leaves.Pour this to Curry and Mix well.Let it sit for a while and serve with hot rice.
